For some it is an extremely fragile material that needs to be handled with kid gloves. For us, it is a highly solid pillar of environmental protection. Glass in its many shapes and colours is an integral part of our daily lives. The consistent reprocessing of used glass plays a major role in the sustainable material chain, because the recycling quota is higher than with almost any other material. Accordingly, there is a sophisticated infrastructure for glass recycling in Germany. This includes the collection in customised container systems, as well as the careful separation of all glass fractions.
In a holistic process we produce pure secondary raw materials for new end products from used glass. The recycling of used glass contributes significantly to the conservation of finite natural resources, since every bottle consists of 60-90% recovered glass shards, which are prepared in a highly complicated process. Before that, impurities such as old clothes, plastic bags, corks, labels, plastic lids etc. are removed selectively.
